Fabric Ribbon - About 1.1 metres Cotton Velcro or Domes
Step 1 - Pattern:
There are 2 pattern peices for the short dress
(front and back)
and 2 for the medium dress
(front and back)
Their sizes are inside the files, if you can't scale the images to the right size to print you can draw the patterns on graph paper of the same scale. Each sqaure of the graph paper that the patterns are drawn on is 5mm, therefore 2 squares = 1 cm, and 5 squares = approx 1 inch. Apart from the different sizes the dresses are made the same.
Step 2 - Sewing The Sides Together
With right sides together sew from the neck down the shoulder to the position indicated on the pattern, the rest of top part of the sleeve is left open, so fold it over and sew down. Continue sewing from the underarm to the next position indicated on the pattern and fold and sew over the edges to make the split in the skirt part of the dress
Repeat for the other side of the dress
Fold over all and sew down the remiaining edges (except for where the collar will be attached)
Step 3 - Collar
Cut a strip of fabric with a width of about 2cm and a length long enough to go around the whole
neck of the dress + a few centimetres more.
With right sides together fold the collar in half and sew accross one end, turn collar thru to its right side
starting in the front middle of the dress, attach the collar to the neck of the dress, when you get to the end of the dress cut collar with about 1cm to fold over, then sew it down, repeat for other part of collar.
Step 4 - Ribbon
The ribbon is optional.
Fold ribbon in half and iron so that it stays folded down (It will be easier to iron if you pin it to the ironing board). Sew ribbon on to all edges, and on one side from the collar to under the arm.
Step 5 - Finishing
Attach vecro or some other fastner to open and close dress at the back.
